This Glass Ball was Meant to be Shattered

It happened again.

The steady, predictive mirage of life
burnt to the ground,
raging fires singeing hands along the way.

Exasperated, I stared down at the scars,
crevices against the lifelines of my palms –
but instead of fear or anger, a sudden shift occurred,
like a comet echoing through the universe
finally finding its way home.

It was then, when I paused
and stood among the wreckage–
ashes streaming from the heavens like rain.

I opened my eyes to the burning present.
A present in which I fully acknowledged that my glass ball had just utterly and completely shattered like angel dust to the floor.

(Not even one hanging shard remained.)

And this was when the sun peeked through the billowing clouds above and reminded me of my immense evolution and growth,
for I am so much stronger and braver than before.

And it was then when the moment of clarity persevered, and a voice echoed deeply within my soul and calmly whispered,

“Give yourself grace.

Don’t you see?

This glass ball was meant to be shattered all along.
Its destination fulfilled,
so you could pick up the pieces and triumphantly rebuild.

Your scarred hands not only resonating and healing others but mending more authentic beauty than there ever was before.”
